Elder DeGriselles

Mom told me that Tim's missionary president's wife called her the other day because Tim had already caused some serious trouble...

I kid.  Sister Veirs called to introduce herself to mom (how nice)!  She has a blog for their mission on which she will post about the happenings in San Pedro Sula Mission as well as post about her missionaries.

Two Months

Little Miss Adelaide turned two months on April thirteenth.  I would say, "I can't believe how much she has grown..." except she actually hasn't grown that much.  It's funny because I always knew I would have a big baby.  Ever since Timothy and I married I would eye all the small little babies and think, "aw, I'll never have one that small."  Timothy and I were both over 9 pounds when we were born and my first niece and nephew were both over 9 pounds as well.

Lo and behold when Adelaide was born the doctor exclaimed "What a big baby!"  And then each and every nurse said the same thing.  Adelaide was born on a Monday and by that Thursday she had lost over a pound.  Over the next several weeks we worked so hard to put any meat on those bones, but she only ever gained a few ounces which didn't mean much because she lost them again.  (Most babies regain their birth weight back by 10-15 days.)  Since I was not producing nearly enough milk (despite all the different methods I tried to get my milk supply up), we had to switch Adelaide to a bottle.  She just wasn't eating which in turn led to her not sleeping.  It was so hard to see her like that.  Anyway, on the formula, she finally regained her birth weight at one month (9 pounds).

Adelaide had her two month check up on the thirteenth.  She was supposed to gain about two pounds (ish) by now.  Well, she only gained eleven ounces.  Like I said, I always knew I would have a big baby.  I just didn't think that she might not stay that way!  Well, the doctor wants to keep a closer eye on her weight, but overall she is fine, beautiful, and healthy.  Here are her check up stats:

April 13th, 2012, 2 months
9 pounds 11 ounces, 23 inches long, and her head is 38 1/2 cm.

Now that she gets plenty of food regularly she is quite an alert and happy baby.  She sleeps well at night (most nights that is).  Her naps in the day can be a bit hit or miss though.  She is such an alert baby which makes it hard to figure out when she's tired.  She doesn't come with a drowsy setting, just awake or asleep.  We're figuring it out slowly but surely.  She is also a spit up queen.  We go through bibs like crazy.

The major milestones that she has hit this past month is smiling and talking.  She gives us such great smiles now.  Things that almost always get a smile from her are: playing games with her while wiping the spit up off her face, Tim's voice, kissing her cheeks, us smiling, bopping her nose, covering and uncovering her face...When she wakes up in the morning she is the absolute smileyist.  Just in the past two weeks she discovered her voice.  She is very soft spoken, but she loves hearing the noises she can make.  When we repeat them back she gets very excited and does it more.  There have even been several mornings that I woke up to her, instead of crying, talking and talking to herself.  Adorable.

Enough of me, here's her two month photos:

This is her talking

It's impossible to capture her smiles on camera!

Yes we still have Baxter, and he enjoyed Easter too.

Uncle Aaron stopped by last weekend to get some loves (and spit up) from Addie.

Post Easter

Instead of a bunch of words to describe our Easter I'll just paint you a portrait of pictures.
Addie's first Sunday. (She still needs to learn not to wear jeans to church.)

Milk was a bad choice.

Learning to do pushups.

Clash of the titans.

Addie saying "Blackhawk's are number one."
Thug baby, don't mess with her or she may just pop a cap in you. (at the very least she will spit up on you... a lot)

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year! It's been so much fun celebrating holidays with Abby, especially now that she is a little more aware of what is going on. We woke up bright and early on Sunday to see what the Easter Bunny left us, we were all definitely spoiled!

We got dressed up in our new Easter outfits for church and I have to say I think Abby looked the cutest! I can't believe how big my baby girl is getting, she is such a cutie!

Later that day we had my family gather at my mom's house for Easter dinner. We had delicious food and spent the rest of the time just catching up and having fun!

After dinner we decided to "hide" Abby's Easter eggs and let her find them. Of course we didn't really hide the eggs but instead spread them throughout the garden and let Abby pick them up and put them in her basket, she had a ball! It was really funny because I had filled the eggs with candy and as soon as she found out she was opening everyone of them, unfortunately she was opening them upside and got candy everywhere, lol!

My family, I love these guys!
