Family Fast

So Matt will be having surgery on his eye on Monday (at 6am, talk about early!!) and Danielle asked if we were going to have a family fast which I think is an awesome idea! We would like to invite everyone to participate in family fast for Matt on Monday, December 19th. Your prayers and thoughts are very appreciated and I will definitely keep everyone up to date. Thanks!

11 Months Old!

Seems like Abby is growing in leaps and bounds! She can talk "ma-ma, ba-ba, da-da, la-la" and even imitate some sounds. She knows her name and when you say "where is grandma?" she knows who to look for. But one the coolest things is...Abby can walk! So sure she is still crawling from here to there on occasion but she can walk all over the place now and it's still pretty hard to believe! We are so excited to watch Abby open her Christmas presents on Christmas morning and see her excitement! We sure love our baby girl!!

Thanksgiving pics!

NOTE: So I know we were all there so the post below might seem a little redundant but I figured it would be fun to see some of the pics we took down in Cali, enjoy!

(On another sidenote...I found Abby's cute panda beanie but lost my star earrings Matt got me for Christmas last year at the hotel, out of all the things to loose this one really sucks!)

For Thanksgiving this year we decided to take a little trip to California to spend the holidays with Matt's family and we had a blast! We drove to San Jose (12 hours, yikes!) and though it was one the longest drives I've been on (not to mention driving with a baby which of course you have to add a couple more hours) Abby did a really good job and I couldn't be more proud of her! She only fussed a couple of times, such a trooper!

We arrived at Matt's sister Allison and her hubbie Tim's house in San Jose on Wednesday, November 23rd around 9pm. We went right to bed and waited for the rest of the family to arrive the next day.

On Thursday, November 24th (Thanksgiving Day woot, woot!!) all the family made it out and it was so nice seeing everyone. Some of the siblings we haven't seen in over two years (WAY TOO LONG!) so it was just so good catching up! Abby loved playing with her cousins Luke, Leona, and Emma-Lee, I just wished we all lived closer.

After many, many hours of cooking (THANKS Tim and Alli, the food was AMAZING!) we enjoyed our delicious Thanksgiving dinner! I loved every single part of it!!

After Thanksgiving we enjoyed a little relaxation! I loved just kicking back, catching up with everyone and not having a worry in the world! Gotta love holidays!!

This is so cute, lol! Abby LOVED hugging her littel cousin Emma who is only a month younger then her but about 8lbs lighter. We had to tell Abby "be soft" just a couple times, lol. Love this video!

On Friday, November 25th we took some family pics (to be posted soon) and just spent the rest of the day relaxing and spending time together. We also did a Christmas gift exchange since everyone was there and not everyone (including us) will be there for Christmas day. Matt's brother Thom and Sarah drew our name and got us the cutest monkey pj's! I was so excited to get them cause Matt and I still needed to get Christmas pj's and these are going to work out perfectly!

On Saturday, November 26th we headed home. Abby was a little more fussy with the drive home but after sitting in the same car for over 12 hours you can't really blame her, lol. We made it home safe and sound and ready to not take step in another car for a week! We had so much fun visiting our family and spending so much time together, gotta love holidays!!

Post Thanksgiving Thankfulness

I just wanted to post a quick thank you note.

Timothy and I really are so thankful that we were able to see each and everyone of you for a few days.  It has been so long, and these family get-togethers are getting even more exciting with more little ones running around.  We are also so grateful for all of the help that each and everyone of you so willingly provided when we asked for it (and even when we didn't)!  It was so exciting for us to be able to host.  We loved making so much yummy food and providing a place for everyone to spend time together.  We really appreciate your patience with us and, again, all of your help.  Looking around the house right now, I never could have expected it to be this clean after 15 people had just spent so many days here at once.  The kitchen still needs a little more work to be ship shape, but it's nothing a trash bag, a wet rag, and a few minutes can't handle.  I was worried that we were going to have to spend the rest of our weekend straightening back up again.  Instead we were able to get some much needed sleep and delve right back into our homework.

So, thank you all so so so very much for all that you did to make this holiday so much fun and so smooth.

We love you all very much and can't wait to see you all soon.  ...You know, sometime around when this little baby is born, maybe :)

I wish I had seen this before I posted my previous post.

Thanksgiving Weekend!!

Since Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I thought I should come on here and let you all know what to expect...Besides awesomeness, of course.  That's a given.
I am so excited that all of us are going to be together for a few days!  Tim and I get to meet our two youngest nieces for the first time!!  I'm hoping that we can all set aside our electronic devices as much as possible and just enjoy fun old fashioned time together.  We have quite a few games as well as puzzles for people to play together, plus there will be five little adorable kids here to keep us entertained.

Sleeping Situation:
Thom, Sarah, and their three bambinos get the spare room.  There is a bed in there for the two adults, enough space for the portable crib (we don't have one yet, so you guys will have to bring your own, which I'm sure you were planning on already), and some extra floor space for the two kids.  I hope the kids will be ok sleeping on the floor, we don't have much extra padding for them...
Mom, Dad, Matt, Brittany, and Abby will be sleeping at a hotel near by (lucky them, they'll probably get the best sleep!)
Aaron, Danielle, and Tim will have to play rock, paper, scissors over an inflatable mattress, our couch, and the floor.
We have a few extra blankets, but not many, as well as 5 extra pillows.  Matt and Brittany and Mom and Dad wont need to worry about blankets and pillows because they'll be at a hotel.  So that means we have enough pillows for five of the seven staying here.  If people have compact pillows and sleeping bags, it would make things easier if they brought them along.  Danielle, don't worry about any of that since you're flying. Tim, maybe you could send your pillow and sleeping bag up with Mom and Dad so Thom and Sarah have more space for their kids' sleeping stuff in their car.

Also, we have shampoo and conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, and lotion in our common bathroom, so if this makes packing easier you don't have to worry about bringing it if you don't want to, but please bring your own toothbrush.

Weather:

It looks as though weather will be in the low sixties to high forties with chances of rain.  Pack accordingly.  Inside temperature is usually around 60.  I inherited Mom's gene for refusing to use the heater until absolutely necessary, sorry folks.  On the plus side, when the oven is on, the front room heats up quite nicely and with 15 bodies in this house, we might feel warm enough as it is.  I do suggest slippers.  The dog here has very short hair that, believe it or not, can stick in your feet and feel like a splinter.

Schedule of Events:

Thursday we have a fantastic meal planned.  We are hoping to get as much of the prep work done in advance to make it a pretty smooth day.  In advance, pardon us if we seem a little cranky/bossy/possessive in the kitchen...It is our first Thanksgiving and we are cooking for 15 people.  HOWEVER, we are suuuper excited to be doing so!!  (I just wanted to give everyone a heads up...just in case!)

Friday we will be taking pictures first thing in the morning.  It has yet to be determined if we will be taking these pictures in our home or at the church. Picture dress code is nice casual.  Essentially like the last family photo we took.  Further wardrobe questions need to be directed to mother.  The rest of the day has a pretty loose schedule: leftovers, games, and general family "bonding" time.

Unfortunately we wont have time to do a family temple trip.  With it being such a short weekend, everyone will be going home before we know it.

Christmas Gift Exchange:

It has been suggested that since we will all actually be together at this time to do the family gift exchange.  Please remember to bring your gift for whomever you may have and be prepared to play hot and cold :)

If you guys have any more questions, let me know!  This is quite the long post so I hope I didn't forget anything important...

Timothys Work

Tim has posted his most recent animation.  http://timothy-thelin.blogspot.com/  Check out the work he's been doing.  By the end of the semester he'll post a full 30 second animation.  (In his post he shows how much work and how many papers it takes to create a 15 second animation.)

10 Months Old!

Abby Ruth 10 months old! It's kind of mind blowing to me that in just two months she will be a year old! She is growing so fast, I know any day she will be walking and talking...oh wait she already does that! She can take about 4-5 steps now without falling down and if she has something to hold she can walk around forever. She is talking up a storm with words like "ma-ma, da-da, ba-ba, and kitty" well she might not say kitty as clear as you or me but you can tell its what she means. She has eight teeth now and loves eating everything in sight. And yes she LOVES bath-time, by far her favorite activity of the day!

I'M NOT READY!!

We should have known that creating this dashingly handsome, and extremely kind young man would lead to this sooner or later...But it's too soon for me.

Honestly, I'm worried that this letter kind of crosses the "cute" line. Let me know what you think.

Abby's first snow!

This morning we woke up to a couple of inches of snow. We decided to see how Abby would like it and after being a little confused at first, she loved it!

We had this big comfy sleeper that we knew would keep her warm, our pseudo-snow suit of sorts, lol. She probably would have played in it all day if we would have let her. I can't wait until she is big enough to really play in the snow!

Happy Halloween...just a little late!

Took us a couple of days but we got our Halloween photos posted! This year for Halloween Matt and I decided so something extra fun and have our costume's themed. For all of those that watch the TV show "Bones" you might recognize us, for those that don't we still look pretty cute!

Matt dressed up as "Seeley Booth", I dressed up as "Bones aka Temperance Brennan", and of course Abby is our little skeleton baby. We had a lot of fun getting the costume's put together, not to mention dying mine and Matt's hair (don't worry mine was just a brunette hair spray though Matt was less fortunate and reddish-brown locks are permanent, at least until he cuts it again). I think Abby's little skeleton-pajamas's are my favorite, oh and of course the cute beanie!

On Halloween day we enjoyed taking Abby to my work for some "trick-or-treating" and then that night we went "trick-or-treating" to some family and friends and later enjoyed some pizza and yummy sugar cookies! It's become a family tradition for us to eat pizza and sugar cookies each year and I love it! We had a wonderful Halloween, had so much dressing up and starting some of our own new traditions with Abby.
