How is it that every time I turn around my kids are just getting bigger and bigger? I still can't believe Liam is already one month old. It's amazing to me that my little man could have such a strong hold on my heart. He is such a good boy and Matt and I couldn't be more grateful that he is happy and healthy and home with us. Liam spent the first 12 days of his life in the NICU with pneumonia and breathing problems and to stay it was touch would be an understatement. He is home now and doing great and we know it's because of the many prayers of families and friends. We love you so much little Liam, thanks for making our family complete!

Liam Gray DeGriselles!
Our little guy is here, we can't believe it! Here is Liam's story...
On Thursday, February 21st Matt and I decided to go to the hospital because I had been having Braxton-Hicks all day. Being that I was still two weeks early I knew they would just send me home but I wanted to get everything checked out just in case. We went to the hospital (Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, not the same hospital I had Abby in which at first was annoying but quickly I learned that the spirit had directed us to go to that hospital) and after they monitored me for about three hours they sent me home, no big surprise. They did however do an ultrasound to make sure Liam was ok because they noticed some variables in his heart rate. Sometimes it was high and then it would drop down and then come back up. They told me to come back the next day so they could do a non-stress test.
While driving home Matt and I realized that though it was unlikely we would have Liam the next day we better get prepared. We already had our hospital bags but we had a couple last minute things to get which we quickly grabbed once we got home.
The next day was Friday, February 22nd (or 2/22/2013) which we thought was a good day to have a baby, lol. We had the non-stress test and Matt and I both figured we would be going home that day as well. Well after about a half hour the doctor came in to ask us if we wanted a baby today, we both said, "Yes!". We were admitted to Labor and Delivery, called our families, met my mom, dad, Annette, Chelsie, Ryan and Danielle at the hospital and sat around ready to wait...and wait...and wait.
It was almost midnight and I was worried we were going to lose our chance to have Liam on 2/22/2013 when the doctor came in around 10:45pm and told me it was time to start pushing! It took maybe three sets of pushing until little Liam Gray DeGriselles was born!
Liam Gray DeGriselles weighed 7lbs, 9oz and measured 19.5", Even for being two weeks early he was just the perfect size. When Abby was born she was a week early and weighed 7lbs, 12oz and measured 20.5".
Shortly after he was born (and after we had some skin-to-skin time which was great!) they had to take Liam to the NICU. He was grunting a lot after he was born which apparently is not a good thing. The doctor had to put a cpap machine on him to help him with his breathing. It seems that Liam was breathing too hard so they needed to regulate it a little bit more. I think we all assumed he would only be on it for a little while but by the time I had to go home on Sunday Liam was still in the NICU. He went from the cpap machine to a ventilator and what made it even worse is we had yet to hold him. It was very hard leaving the hospital without him but we know he will be home soon!
