Happy Halloween

We had fun with our costumes this year.

I made my costume this year.  I had so much fun.  It's felt that I cut out from skeleton parts I found on anatomy websites.  Might I also add that my earrings are made out of bone too.
Of course, Tim made the baby for me.  I tried...And it looked very very creepy...to say the least.  So I asked for Tim to help me.  I love it!  Her first Halloween and she doesn't even know it yet.
Marty McFly for those that are nostalgic.  I didn't know if I could get him to dress up this year, but thankfully his animation class decided to have a contest so he had to :)

This year we bought Baxter his own pumpkin.
He wasn't quite sure what it was for...
Then he realized it was for eating!
Here are our pumpkins...We didn't have time to decorate them, unfortunately.  But they'll be around for Thanksgiving!
I forgot to post these last time!!  We had a Groupon date to Color Me Mine.  Tim made this one, Greek themed.  He took a while, but it turned out so awesome!
Here is mine.  I love it so much!
This is our plate to use for birthdays, graduations, or other big deals.  Tim's family had a tradition of having a plate for the person of honor.  I didn't know I had this in me!

Also, I apologize for posting on top of Thom and Sarah's post...I was halfway through this one when Tim told me they posted.  So, apologies, but I hope everyone else also posts their costumes from this year too!  And I hope you all had fun celebrating Danielle's birthday!

Halloween + Creative Wife + Kids = Total Awesomeness

So I have to share with everyone some photos of this year's halloween. All three of the kids loved it. We had a complete blast as a family up here. Not to say that we didn't have our mishaps, but it was still great.
Our halloween weekend started out Friday night at the Ward Halloween...oops, I mean, Harvest Festival/Chili Cook-off that everyone just happened to show up at in costume and pass out candy (our Bishop isn't a big fan of halloween, silly guy. I actually had to explain to him who the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is, that was interesting.)

The party was fun and everyone loved the costumes. We arrived in grand style with Sarah's handy-work: She Luke and Leona dressed as GhostBusters while Emma was Slimer and I was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. It was great. The only part I did was the Proton Packs, which actually performed well. They had flashing lights and shot Silly String (watch the video for a better view). The whole outfits got rave reviews and the kids were like little celebrities as all the other kids oogled the proton packs.

Sarah's chili verde won "Best Tasting," for the second time. Then came the candy. I didn't realize just how much the kids had amassed until we were driving home and Luke said, "I don't feel very good. My stomach hurts." To make a long story short, he threw up twice that night with this nasty, chunky, sweet smelling stuff that still makes me twitch.

After the night passed, Luke had his soccer game on Saturday at 10am, then he and Leona went to a B-day party at 12, then the North Shore Elementary school halloween festival at 2:30pm. Bussy day with lots of sugar and running around. Leona won best home-made costume while Luke was waiting in line trying to win a Beta fighting fish (they ran out like 4 people in front of us). But it was still fun. That night we carved pumpkins.

Sunday was more mellow. More candy consumed, no sore stomachs, and more room in the buckets for Monday Night.

This evening we took the kids over to the village before dinner and before it got crazy. They got more candy and had fun shooting random ghosts with their silly string. We left with full buckets for the trailer park and stopped in at home. For dinner we had mummy dogs. We ended the night with a short walk through the Whispering pines trailer park.

Bussy weekend, but it was a blast. The kids are wiped out, as am I and Sarah. Enjoy the photos.

Building a Blog Site

Can ANYBODY direct me to something that will help me create a blog site? I want to post articles on ancient Egypt, and articles on immigration issues. The latter I'd like to do in response to the anti-immigrant fervor out there as we prepare for elections next year; the former because I've spent so much time studying the subject, I'd just like to share.

Videos Galore!

So lately I have been really bad at uploading videos...therefore I have like a ton of new videos I need to post. So find yourself a comfortable seat, put your feet up, and grab some popcorn...this might take awhile, lol.

Abby loves dancing! For the past week or so we've started noticing her dancing to any music she hears on the tv or radio and it's so cute! (10/19/2011)

My baby is smart! Abby can take the lid off of her treats, such a smart girl. (10/15/2011)

Abby can now stand on her own and has even started taking really small steps. She can do maybe two steps at a time but she is learning so fast. (10/15/2011)

Abby has fun chasing mommy all over the bed. (10/9/2011)

Abby just keeps growing and growing! She can now get off the bed all my herself! (10/2/2011)

One happy little Abby. (9/5/2011)

Abby just loves bubbles, its too funny to watch her inactive with them. (8/18/2011)

My baby girl is climbing up stairs, she is getting so big. (8/13/2011)

I love Abby's laugh, it's so contagious and funny and pretty much the best sound ever! (8/9/2011)

Abby with her monkey friend, I thought this might scare her but she loves him! (7/31/2011)

Abby loves looking for her daddy under the blankets when he is sleeping. Once she finds him she grabs his face and ears and lips and makes sure he wakes up, lol. (7/24/2011)

October Happenings

We have been trying to take more pictures recently...And if we take more pictures, maybe we'll update the blogs more often...

Us celebrating the first cold weather of the year.  It was rainy and foggy outside so we made hot cocoa with marshmallows!  I love California winter weather!

October 10th was Canadian Thanksgiving.  Here is Tim getting our little birds ready for the holiday.

Cornish Game Hens, asparagus, and potatoes.  It was so yummy!  Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, eh!

Here's me and my belly at 23 weeks.  Notice that I am wearing a dress!  I never get to wear dresses because they do not compliment my figure... They make me look like a door.  A perk of being pregnant is that I actually get to wear a dress.

Every year that we have lived in San Jose, we have gone to Half Moon Bay to the pumpkin patches!  Usually we go with Tim's sister, Jody, and her whole family.  It was a little weird this year going without all the children, but we enjoyed it all the same.  The weather was quite nice.  The sun was warm but the wind was cool.
Here is Tim scouring the pumpkin watch for the right pumpkin.

And me doing the same...

Oh look, and us being adorable!

My Lil' Pumpkin at 24 weeks

Tim with our findings.  We got two pumpkins to decorate for Halloween, a sugar pie pumpkin for our Thanksgiving pumpkin pie, and several little pumpkins to decorate the house with!

No pumpkin patch would be complete without one of these black birds.

Some more of me at 24 weeks.  I didn't realize how much of a baby bump I had until I saw myself in this picture!

Hello Piggy!!

He was quite happy to see us.  He followed us around for a while.

...This little piggy didn't seem to care much about anything...

More black birds.

After we were done we stopped by the ocean to eat our lunch.  It was so beautiful out!
Besides our little adventure, we have been really busy this month with school.  I had a ton of projects due all month and even though I managed to get them done, I don't know how I did.  I just don't have any motivation this semester!  Tim, on the other hand has more homework than I could possibly imagine trying to coordinate.  He spends all his time at home working on school work.  His hard work is paying off though, he is at the top of his class!  Check the side bar for his blog, he will be updating it today with several of his recent illustrations and, if I can convince him, his first animation!  (Or click this link...) http://timothy-thelin.blogspot.com/

X-mas Exchange?!

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were about doing the x-mas exchange during our Thanksgiving get-together.

Yay? Nay? Indifferent?

I think it would be a good idea since we are all going to be together, I don't even remember the last time this happened, lol.

Mi famila!

On Saturday, October 8th my good buddy Ashley took our family photos and I can't believe how cute they turned out! We've been needing to get some new family photos with my mom and all my brothers and sister but we've kept procrastinating it. We finally decided with Austin leaving on his mission we better get it done! The following are my favorites from the shoot. Be forewarned there are about a billion photos but everyone of them I think looks awesome so I felt compelled to include them, enjoy!
